I am constantly surprised by the innovate ways filmmakers make films. Check this one out. It's a great little piece.

Mondays with Mila - Manfred
"Manfred is the eponymous character in a concept for an animation series of the same name. Each episode features Manfred experiencing an everyday frustration and how he deals with it. "
I particularly enjoy the out of the ordinary character design and the characters gaits. Oh, and the trees, I love the trees!
Until next week,
Mila

The Big Shave by Martin Scorsese [1967]
A forewarning. This short is not going to make you smile. It may make you cringe. This serves as a metaphor for the unheeding damage and loss of the Vietnam War.

Mondays with Mila - No Pets Allowed (trailer)
I'm really excited for this upcoming spanish film. It has really interesting visual design, but my particular favorite is the character design, it's so quirky and fun. Also, it seems like the story might be a lot of fun, too.
This is the second animation feature film in development at SIX BIRDS.
CGI process was done in their daughter company StudioNEST

Good Bot, Bad Bot
Another fun film from the Ringling School of Art and Design. The animation was great, the story simple, the acting was great. Loved it.
When Joe is brought in for questioning after a toaster's murder, he meets an odd couple of robot police. Tensions rise as the interrogation drags on and it's anyone's guess how Joe will get out alive!

Birds on the Wires
The Melody of nature. You have to watch this video. Using birds sitting on electric wires as a representation of sheet music, this music was composed. And I have to say its pretty great
Quoting the creator "Reading a newspaper, I saw a picture of birds on the electric wires. I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes (no Photoshop edit). I knew it wasn't the most original idea in the universe. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating.
I sent the music to the photographer, Paulo Pinto, who I Googled on the internet. He told his editor, who told a reporter and the story ended up as an interview in the very same newspaper."

Mondays with Mila - Intro & The Monk & The Monkey
Isn't Monday usually a bit of a drag? You're probably tired from all the fun things you did over the weekend, yet you have to shift gears and get your brain to focus on work. Well, that's where Mondays with Mila comes in, to lift your spirits and start your week on the right foot. I am Mila, and I want to share my passion for animation with you. Every Monday I will post a short animated film, whether it's 2D, 3D, stop motion or cg integrated with live action. So come by every week to lose yourself in a magical animated world for a few minutes and start your week with a smile.
The Monk & The Monkey
A determined young boy, Ragu, is sent by his master on his final quest to become a monk. A seemingly simple task becomes an unexpected challenge for Ragu as he discovers the real value of his quest.
I love this short. It's filled with excitement, intricate textures, beautiful lighting and a sweet lesson. The quality of student work that comes out from Ringling never ceases to amaze me.
